Kia ora
I am a member of room 22 Kotuku this year.
My name is Helaman and this is my memory poem.
On a warm sunny day
my feet remember the soft green grass in between my toes,
my legs remember the warm lazy push from the warm yellow sun,
my body remembers the cold wind from the North,
my arms remember the cold rushing winds,
my hands remember the sloshing withering mud from the ground,
my face remembers the hot blaze burning at my eyebrows,
my mind remembers that day.
Helaman I.
Ka mau te wehi, Heleman! What a fantastic piece of writing. My favourite line is, "My legs remember the warm lazy push from the warm yellow sun." I think that is a sensational description!
